Gelsensport e.V. offers children in grades 1 to 4 (school year 24/25) a trial membership in the Gelsenkirchen sports clubs. The children are given the opportunity to try out a sport of their choice for a year and experience the club culture. General Conditions
The trial membership in a club of your choice is limited to 1 year. The child’s membership ends automatically after 12 months unless the parents extend their child’s membership themselves. In the event of an extension, you must pay the membership costs.
The offer is aimed at children in 1st – 4th grade (school year 24/25)
The child in question must NOT have previously been a member of the club.
The club must be a registered organisation. Courses such as seahorse courses or similar are not subsidised. Only pure membership is subsidised.
This is the procedure
You are holding a voucher for a free 1-year trial membership in your hands. Once you have chosen a club, please go to this club with this voucher and take out a membership for your child as normal. The club may ask you to fill in the relevant forms. The club will then register this membership with your child’s details with Gelsensport e.V. You must not incur any costs for the membership. The clubs must settle these costs with Gelsensport e.V..
For statistical purposes, the clubs will record your child’s school and class level.
Please also note that this project is treated according to the motto „First Come- First Serve“ and that new memberships will be financed by Gelsensport e.V. as long as funding is available.

What is the procedure?
After receiving the voucher, you can use the club search engine on the Gelsensport homepage to find a club. The voucher will be handed in to the club of your choice and retained by the club. If your child registers with this club, you will not be charged any membership fees.
What are the conditions of participation?
Any child from a primary school in Gelsenkirchen in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade may participate.
Where and how can I hand in/redeem the voucher?
Once you have decided on a club of your choice via our club search engine, go to this club and hand in the voucher. As a result, you should not incur any costs for membership fees. The club submits an application to Gelsensport e.V.
Which sports can my child try out?
Any sport can be tried out. The only important thing is that the club is a registered organisation and that there are no commercial courses on offer.
What costs are covered?
Parents may not incur any costs for membership fees. These will be covered by Gelsensport e.V. after reviewing the application submitted by the club.
Costs for courses are NOT covered!
